FOUNDERS' DAY CELEBRATION

The Hartford Club

46 Prospect St, Hartford

April 27, 2012

This year's celebration will feature Gary Brown '84, Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects (FASLA) and Director of Campus Planning and Landscape Architecture at UW-Madison. If you haven't been back to Madison in a while, there have been a lot of changes, one of the most recent being the East Campus Gateway project, a 7-block corridor running from Lake Mendota to Regent Street (as featured in a recent New York Times article: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/15/realestate/commercial/east-campus-gateway-in-madison-wis-nears-completion.html).

In addition to projects such as this, Gary is responsible for overseeing the 20-year campus master plan and serves as the university's historic preservation officer and environmental affairs officer, and as director of UW-Madison's Lakeshore Nature Preserve.

Learn of the challenges of his position in a program entitled "Building for Our Future While Respecting Our Past."

ROSE BOWL 2012 - JOIN US AT ROOKIES IN CROMWELL!

Come to Rookies at 51-14 Shunpike Rd in Cromwell to watch the Badgers take on the Oregon Ducks on Monday, January 2nd.  Kickoff is at 5:10 pm, but I'm sure coverage will start earlier.  Rookies has promised us the back right corner of the restaurant (where they used to have pool tables).  We'd love to have a big crowd, so why not come join us, rather than watch the game at home, all alone?  And be sure to wear all that new Badger red that you got for Christmas this year!

On Wisconsin!

BADGER STUDENT SEND-OFF CELEBRATION - 7/28/11

Help us send off new students from CT and MA in style!  We’ll be having a Wisconsin-style cookout where you can meet alumni and UW students from Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. This event will be held at the home of David Schaefer at 39 Broadfield Road in Hamden, CT on July 28, 2011 from 6 pm to 8 pm.  Best of all, this event is FREE!

PLEASE RSVP
To help us make sure we have enough food for everyone, please register on-line at  http://www.uwalumni.com/sendoffs (scroll down to the listing for the Connecticut event).   Please RSVP by Wednesday, July 27th.  Any questions? Please contact David Schaefer at dschaefer@bswlaw.com or (203) 314-1811.
